Conceptual Thinking – Ideation & Visual Metaphors
Lesson Overview
In this lesson, you will dive into Ideation & Visual Metaphors to discover how to bridge the gap between abstract business strategy and iconic visual communication. You will learn how to break free from the cliché trap and instead develop high-impact symbolic designs.
Lesson Objectives:
- Use semantic word association and unique visual libraries to translate abstract brand strategies into symbolic visual metaphors.
- Execute the Rule of 30 sketching framework, using rapid divergent sketching to exhaust cliché concepts before applying convergent thinking to refine the top three ideas.
- Validate your final concepts against the Design Trifecta to ensure they provide strong aesthetic impact, solve the strategic brand problem, and maintain high production feasibility.
